Alastair has a 36 year career in Banking with NatWest, with more than 20 years as a Relationship Director in the Corporate and Commercial space where he had a diverse portfolio of large SME clients across London, Surrey and Sussex. He has strong business and financial analysis capabilities following several Head Office roles. He was passionate about using these to ensure that his customers received market-leading facilities but also wise counsel during good times and bad.

Alastair is unfailingly curious about businesses. He not only seeks to understand their trading activity but also the hopes and fears of the owners, and adopts a partnership approach. He enables clients to achieve their ambitions while managing their risks along the way, both financial and otherwise.

Alastair joined Carpenter Box as Business Development Manager to help business owners receive the best advice to meet their reporting requirements and to appropriately manage their tax affairs, while freeing them up to create successful and vibrant businesses.

I have always been passionate about languages and different cultures. In 2007, after having been a French and Spanish Teacher for two years in a secondary school, I completed a Master’s Degree in Translation and became a freelance translator from Italian, French and Spanish into English.
My translation specialisms include the following fields: financial, annual reports, marketing, general business, websites, contracts, the environment, technical, IT (software/hardware) and pharmaceutical.
My broad range of experience as a translator for over ten years has prepared me well for dealing with industry-specific terminology and finding the right voice for my client's target customers.
